The Process of Elevation
“Don’t forget where you came from.” Is that phrase meant as a reminder to spark humility or is it a message
spoken in jealousy and enveloped in envy? How many of us have friends? Not
just people that you met at a social event and they seemed like “good people.” Not
those that send friend invites to be nosey or those that follow you because of what
you do, whom you know or what you have recently acquired. I mean the friends
with genuine character coupled with pure intentions. Character and intentions
that nourish, support and encourage growth and success within you. Character
and intentions that not only protect you but your family and children as well.
I’ve seen it too many times. On social media. I’ve heard it to many times. In
public settings or on the news. I’ve read about it too many times. Senseless articles.
“Friends” that instigate and incite someone to fall victim to hazardous or
violent activities. All the while knowing that the type of “support” they offer
is to develop a path to your downfall. Stay vigilant. Just because you grew up
a certain way, or everybody knows how you used to act it doesn’t mean that you must
continue to portray that character. Honestly, you have people in your life
right now with ulterior motives… selfish purposes. You are their free
entertainment. You are their foot in the door. You are their meal ticket. It
saddens me that this is what the world has and continues to become. The very
people that say that pray for your success easily become the ones that prey on
your success. Crab mentality. They
see your greatness. They fear it. They want to stop it before you exceed where
they can’t seem to excel. If you think about it… I mean really think about it,
you’ve experienced this at least once in your life. You may be experiencing it
right now. Have you ever received an increase that you felt unworthy of? That
new job, that new home, that new car… any seemingly unbelievable increase? You
weren’t qualified enough. You weren’t educated enough. You didn’t look a
certain way. You didn’t know the right people. However, a higher power thought more
than enough of you and it is now in your possession. Have you ever considered the
increase to be an opportunity to deliver you? To remove you from things, places
or people with intentions of stunting your growth, dimming your light or blocking
the birth of future opportunities. They love
you when you are on, at or beneath their level. I’m not saying that everyone is against you or is
out to get you. This is just a test. Go to “friend(s)” with something negative
and pay close attention to their response(s). Consider the response(s) that
either create or feed into negative energy as red flags. The response(s) that encourage
logical and peaceful resolution are substantial. Substantial to your growth,
your peace, your freedom and your presence. I’m not saying that when “you make
it” that you should forget all… the past is a foundation. We were meant to
learn from it, to grow from it, acquire strength from it but to never stay in
it. That is why it is called the past. Stay current but RISE.
