When Lights Go Dim
At some point you get tired of giving… your energy, your
time, your concern and your help. Why are the very people that you
make the most sacrifices for the ones that make you feel the most inadequate? It
is a hard pill to swallow; people that you would give your life for or those
that you’ve risked your life to give life. Spouses, partners, friends, family
and children… over the years you continuously share your light. What happens
when your light goes dim? All that remains is a hollow shell of what once was. Who
is there to recharge you? You get to a point where nothing seems to matter
anymore -none of it. It is at that point that you realize that you’ve given too
much of yourself to others. With a
difficult spirit of admission you acknowledge that your light is now dim. Even
worse in some cases -it’s completely blown. Save some light for yourself, even if it’s a tiny
amount each day. Store it, preserve it, protect it and remember it only takes a
spark to start a forest fire.
